Does Matt Cassel 'become' Tom Brady?
The last time the Patriots star QB ( Drew Bledsoe ) went down and an unknown ( Tom Brady ) stepped in, he led New England to all of the success we all know.
So... does history repeat itself?
Well, the thing is, Cassel has much more to work with than Tom Brady did in some of his earlier seasons... so I'd say the absolute best case scenario is that Matt Cassel, with better talent around him, puts up numbers similar to Brady's two worst... 2001 and 2003. Say, a completion percentage in the low 60s, between 2500 and 3k yards, 20-odd touchdowns. Realistically, you're probably looking at the Pats running a lot more.
"I can't say that. I'd have to say having Ryan Leaf quarterback us to a 1-15 record is probably the biggest challenge."
Rodney Harrison, on whether losing Tom Brady to injury was the greatest challenge he has faced in football.
