I think it is going to go down, obviously. But that said Moss is still Moss. He's the game's best receiver and he's going to get his, regardless of who the QB is. I expect his production to still be among the league's best...just not THE league's best anymore.
In reality, it may not be a bad time to trade for him. I don't think he's going to regress to being worthless, he just isn't going to score 23 TDs. He wasn't going to do that anyways, but I don't think he's going to be terrible. He can go up and get balls that Cassel just lobs out there.
Part of the reason for my post was that last night an this morning Ive been approached by 4 owners in the one PPR redraft league I own Moss, asking for my asking price! Everyone seemingly wanting him on the cheap
I agree entirely Sweetness, I've moved him down from the leagues #1 WR, but I still have him as a mid WR1 at the very worst.
I dont think, whoever the QB is, that the Pats can get too far away from utilizing Moss amazing talent. An increase in Maroneys value is on the cards, but Im just bouncing ideas out there for discussion on Moss' current value/productivity.
Thanks again guys

he seemed to do fine with Cassel at the helm in week 1. He bailed him out on a few bad passes also. I think Moss's production will be fine since Cassel will be looking his way A LOT and will be extremely dependent on Moss's ability. The only person's production I see going way down is Wes Welker, which is unfortunate. But who knows, maybe Moss will get double covered a lot like last season and Welker will be left open.
its amazing how one great year can completely erase your past... you guys all do remember what Moss did in Oakland with out a QB right??? I think Moss will definantly take a hit. and a big one. I have him as a Tier 2 WR now with #1 big play ability. Yes Cassel found him in the endzone yesterday but the entire league will change there scheme and unless Cassel proves to be a stud (which he could) i dont like Moss. I think this year is for Maroney and whatever RB Bill wants to complement him with. I'd say Moss is probably around a 1000/8-10 season. Solid? Yes. Great? No
