Playing the Flutie

Postby Phestuss » Tue Nov 04, 2003 9:57 am

Is their any chance this guy can help SD's offense, particularly Boston?

I'm one right click away from dropping this colosial bust...

One of the rumors I heard on ESPN's MNC is that the team has started to push for Flutie. I'm hoping that maybe this veteran will realize that there are other players to throw to besides LT and at least consider throwing a few passes Boston's way...

I would think this would help Boston, but I don't understand how you couldn't get the biggest player in any secondary some more passes regardless of the QB.

exactly! With Boston's size and strength, he's a walking bullseye. How you cannot find him is quite puzzling even for a humble fan.

I also heard that Shottenwhatever disiplined him because he was trying to motivate his team. Looks like the guy wants the ball and wants to help the team win, but it seems that the team has quit.

Why would he disipline him for trying to motivate the team? I don't get it.

Who knows? I understand that he (Shottenheimer) runs a pretty tight ship. I suppose he didn't like the idea of a big shot coming in and giving another player 'the business' when they underperformed. That's what the coach is supposed to do.
Guess he wouldn't want TO on his squad...
Either way, it sounds like the coach is loosing or has lost his team and is in the midst of a QB controversy.

please help boston. please. Brees was a srub, but i still thought the tree with hands would get some passes thrown his way. BUT NO! Brees made one read and got spooked and threw the screen. UGH. After that one amazing game i thought, "well now for sure after they saw him break the cornerbacks ankles they will pass to him more." Please flutie, pass to boston you.

I don't think it makes too much of a difference. From the highlights it looked like Flutie was running for his life anyway.
