Is steve smith really that good

I need to settle an argument with my friend. Please resond to this with your opinion on the question "Is steve smith among the top 20 recievers in the nfl? Why or why not?" I wont tell you which side i am on so that there is no bias involved. Hopefully your responses can settle our little argument.

I voted the nearly one. His stats have been solid thus far and he is a valid every week FF starter. i dont know if i trust him to get good results every single week but he is better than a lot of highly praised WR's.

Returning punts just adds to his value. One thing to worry about with Smith is he has the knack of getting into trouble.

I am happy with him in my roster though

The top 20? Sure! That's a pretty broad range, but once you pass guys like Harrison, Moss, Holt, TO, Horn, Coles, etc. you start to run out of players really fast. Right now, S. Smith is in the top 15, arguably the top 10.

This week will really be a good test. If he can put up decent #s against TB (who are due for a win...), then he's a sure top 10.

Fantasy or real game wise? Fantasy sure, he's been picking up the stats now for 4 weeks. Real game, he is just a product of teams having to stack the line to stop Stephen Davis. You get lots of blown coverage on play action and he is the beneficiary.

I think that as of now he has been among the top 20 for fantasy points, but in my pool or in real life I would take more then 20 WR's over top of him in a heartbeat.

I don't know on this one.. I mean everytime the world starts counting on Smith, he can seem to go in a coma and not play well for a long time.. If he is in the top 20, lets keep it quiet so that nobody tells him.. But personally, I have to think he'd be in the 20-25 or 30ish category..
