Ravens game moved to Monday night
Hurricane Ike pushes back road opener against Texans

The threat of Hurricane Ike has forced the NFL to push the Ravens' road opener in Houston back a day to Monday night at 8:30.

The hurricane is expected to make landfall in Texas this weekend, striking between Houston and Corpus Christi.

Ike likely will come ashore as a dangerous Category3 storm on the five-step intensity scale with winds of more than 111mph late tonight or early tomorrow, according to the National Hurricane Center.

The decision by the league came after a conference call yesterday with officials from the Ravens and the Houston Texans.

Any chance the NFL network picks up the game?

They won't show it live because it would compete with MNF - maybe they'll show it the following day though as they sometimes do.

Any chance this game gets cancelled/postponed all together?

Not that the Texans and Ravens have a tons of fantasy options, but is it worth benching AJ just in case?

I really don't think that's a worry, but it's a good idea to watch this. Ike isn't probably going to do a lot of damage in Houston... but you never know.

If it is Monday it will help us Mcgahee owners. He should be healthy, well healthier.

I wonder if I'm in a secondary market for the Ravens... I might be.

You never know. It is supposed to hit Saturday and it could knock out power. No power means not many people showing up to the stadium and maybe no power to the stadium, which means no game.

I am a bit worried it may be postponed or canceled actually. Either way there will still be crap weather left over IMO and it could be soggy and nasty.

definitely not the kind of conditions mcgahee should be testing that knee in. if it is a junk field, we can expect to see more of what we saw last week in the rice/mcclain duo, i would think.
