Who has the right stats posted?

Postby kritikos » Sat Sep 13, 2008 2:16 am

I recently lost a game in my CBS Sportsline league due to a live scoring error. They have Jay Cutler listed in their live scoring at 299 passing yards when in the official stats he has 300 passing yards. Every other site I've checked has him listed at 300 yards too (nfl.com, espn, CBSSportsline, SI, Rotoworld) etc. How can I get the website to input the correct stats? If Cutler has 299 yards then I lose my game but with 300 which is correct I get the points i need to win (barely). Any advice?

Thanks!!

NFL.com has Cutler listed with 300 week 1 passing yards. Sounds to me like you have yourself a W. I don't know what the deal is with your provider, but I think NFL.com is the official authority.

Well it's going to depend on your league. Sportsline goes by the Nfl.com stats, but I'm guessing Cutler's stats were updated at some point from 299 yards to 300 yards. Sportsline will only make these changes if the official update is done no later than Wednesday if I remember correctly. Now the league commish has the power to manually go back and change the score and correct it himself, but you can't arbitrarily start doing this. I actually have a rule in the Sportsline league that I commish that I will manually check all of the official scoring changes each week on Saturday morning and correct anything that Sportsline has missed. In the last three years it has only come into play 4 times which isn't too bad. GL either way.
