Commissioner responsibility?

Postby nixie21 » Sat Sep 13, 2008 8:34 pm

I am biased because this decision effects me very much...with the game canceled tomorrow

I lose Andre johnson.

I am picking up a def to start against my opponent. He has the Bal def and is higher on claims than me, so will pick up the def I want and start them against me.

Is it my job to notify the league that the game is canceled (bal - hou) or is it up to the members to get ready? Our claims run tomorrow at 12:00, after that, NO pickups! Big $$ league...

I know to be nice I should email...but is it my job to do so? OR is it just bad not to do so?

Thanks

It's not your job, but it would be nice. With that said do whatever you feel is right.

In my big money league my commish handled this VERY well. Waiver period ended today at 12:00 but he's allowing everyone to pickup players up until gametime. (This league also has a 3$ transaction fee and he's waiving them if theyre due to the cancellation) He also called everyone and notified them of the change. Superb!

All the good comissioner's have already notified their league owners.

All the good owner's already knew about it before their commissioner notified them.

This news is on crawl on ESPN and many other broadcasts this evening. It is not a secret.

I sent emails AND called each owner that had a Tex or Bal player listed as active. It's the right thing to do. The NFL waited a ridiculously long time to make an official announcement.

I sent an email + posted it on the league message board, just in case people have been away from a TV/computer all day today.
