Is Edge BACK?

Postby Go Vikes » Tue Nov 04, 2003 9:50 pm

Is Edge himself again or will he get injured? Or will he stink? What do you guys think?

No one can predict an injury, but I don't think he'll stink. He seems to be back to form after a couple games.

He looked good to me, I think he should be good for the rest of the year.

That was a very respectable team he put up a good game against last week. Start him with no worries.
"At 60 yards it wont be a record FG distance, It will however set a record for longest post field goal celebration if Gramatica makes it."

Al Michaels, in reference to a Gramatica 60YRD field goal attempt week 5(2003 season) of Monday Night Football.

He ran very well against the tough Miami D. I'd still like to see him catch a few more balls like the Edge of old, but the Indy offense is a little different than it was then. I'm optimistic about him for the second half of the season.
"Sometime during the Pats game last week, I decided that Tomlinson was the best overall running back of my lifetime. There's nothing he can't do: deadly receiver, tough inside runner, explosive to the outside, you name it." - ESPN's Bill Simmons

I'll tell you straight up: I have been dissing Edge for the last year because of how week he looked but last week against that Miami D he looked almost like his old self. He'll have to do more before I'll say "he's back" but the signs are good. What really impressed me about the performance last week is that he looked like the old Edge who would seek contact and hit a guy for a few extra yards instead of just running out of bounds.

I wasn't able to see the game but I was pleased with the stats. Especially if he's your 2RB.

As far as the "more receptions" comment, he had 5..I think that's a fair share for 2nd week back.

He's back to where he was at the beginning of the year. Not back to where he was two years ago. At this point, he's a very good (albeit injury prone) #2 fantasy back.
