Again all great guesses but not correct. This one is turning out to be a lot harder than I expected. After the next wave of answers when I check back i will give a hint.

Beattie Feathers is the guys name from chicago in 34

he did it on 119 carries avg over 8 yds per!!!

he was also the first 1000 yd rusher and that record is for rookies and all other players too
