Dallas Stars or Cowboys?

I'm watching the Cowboy-Eagles game and I started thinking...what in the h does the star logo stand for? They are the dallas cowboys, right...not the Dallas Stars. I can't really think of what a star has to do with a cowboy. A cowboy hat, lasso, gun, steer, cowboy and many other things come to my mind when I think of a cowbiy, not a star. The only thing I can think of is the Sherrif stars in the old west cowboys. Help shed some light on this subject! Please! any cowboy fans out there?

Well back in the day, there was a saying. "All roads lead to Dallas." This, coupled with "Follow the North Star," lead to the Star being associated with Dallas, and the Cowboys are Dallas' team, therefore they inherited the star. It's basic arithmetic.
