Should you start WR against your own Def?

S Smith has been pretty reliable the last few weeks but he is up against my def TBay this week. do you start him or not? I play 3wrs, 2rbs, and a flex. any input?

If you didn't own TB, would you play Smith? It doesn't matter if you own the Def or not, you play the WR you think will score the most for you.

definitley, even if your wr scores your defense can still get fumble recovs, ints, etc.... I started Payton Manning and MIami in the same game a few weeks back and benefited.

you can't been a guy based on the fact that he is playing against your fantasy defense.

A better way to look at it would be, if someone else had Tampa Bay's Defense, would you still start or sit Steve Smith?

I wouldn't bench a guy just because he is playing your D. I would always play your best players. If you have another D with a good matchup I would recommend playing them, but if not don't worry about it.

I've got the exact same problem, and I think I'm agreeing with Zimm although it pains me to say it! I've got to go with Smith as he's the hot hand and gets alot of looks. Taking a big risk putting the Bucs D on the bench, but I think I've got a good matchup with Seattle's D vs. Wash...Hate playing guys against my D. To make matters worse I've also got B. Johnson at QB and Kasay at K...too many eggs in one basket for me!

thanx for all the replies guys. i agree to a certain degree to play your studs if SS is one by now im not sure. anyway, the problem is that ive got buress and moulds or calico on my bench in Steve's place so its not totally clear as to who will score the most. i think steve will be in tough against the TBay cover 2. moulds is not totally healthy and against a tough dallas d, and burress has been everage but he had 50 in the 4q and should be due especially against arizona.
so what about that, not only is he playing against my D but i dont know that he is the best start besides that. i have miami D on the bench but they've got tennessee this week. no thanx.
