I've watched all three of Nebraska's games, the last one live and in person. There is reason for optimism, yes - but top 25? I'm not so sure about that yet. There's a lot of things they're not doing well right now.
If NU beats Virginia Tech in two weeks then I'm all over them. Until then... this is MAJOR speculation.

Thing is, you guys have a very solid offense with Lucky and Gantz. They put up great numbers last year, but they couldn't stop anyone. I don't think the defense is fully back, but they are on there way. When you can score and make a decent number of stops in a game you will be in every game with a chance to win it. I haven't seen all of each game like you, so I could be wrong, but what I saw was what I said above and that made me put them where I did.
Also, they have beaten 3 opponents all better than FSU's 2 wins, yet FSU is in the top 25.
Why does everybody have Kansas ahead of Ohio State?
Kansas beat two scrubs, then lost to South Florida. Ohio State beat two scrubs, then lost to USC. Granted, USC but a bigger whipping on Ohio State but USC is #1 team in the majority of people's polls while USF averages 12th.

As I said last week, and deeray mentioned it, its that they grade out. To help eliminate bias you cant go fully by the "eye test". I agree that they havent looked like world beaters, but outside the top10-15, who has? You really believe that at this point in the young season that these teams have EARNED the ranking that you're givinig them: Ohio St, Illinois, Fresno St, Florida St, Arizona St, Clemson? I can agree that most if not all of these teams may seem either more talented or better gelled, but PLEASE, lets actually take the results into question, when ranking. Yes, Frensno played a nice game that they shouldve won, but at the end of the day, this is a 1-1 football team. Probably the best 1-1 team out there, but they have a loss at home, and a road win that looked great at the time, but now North Carolina went in there and punked them worse than Fresno did. Ohio St? Really? They've "looked" like on the best 25 teams so far? I think you need to go in for an eye exam, knapp.

Kansas is better than OSU, easy. KU lost, barely, to a very good South Florida team, at their house, at night. It was a last-second field goal that beat them, and then only after KU had one bad quarter (the third) where they were just... flat.
OSU, as everyone saw, had absolutely no business on the same field as USC. It wasn't even close. Had OSU even put up a fight in that game I'd consider putting the two closer, but as of today, I would be pretty certain that KU would beat OSU on OSU's field. In fact, I'm pretty certain of it.
To be honest, I'm a bit surprised you even ask the question. It makes me wonder how much you've seen of the four teams.

You may think they grade out, but I don't. Like I said, having watched all of Nebraska's games, they have big questions to answer that, frankly, they haven't answered yet. Further, they keep losing D-linemen and they're down to a redshirt freshman on one rush end.
Do I KNOW that all of the teams I've ranked have EARNED their ranking? Of course not. But I know what top-25 football looks like, and right now, Nebraska doesn't look like a top-25 team. Believe me, I want them to be up there just as much as anyone. But they're not.
I will say this. Having watched their games I will guarantee you that Bo is keeping stuff back for VT, Missouri and Oklahoma. They are not showing the full playbook on either side of the ball, and that's limited Nebraska's output. But there are enough mental mistakes being made that should NOT be happening, especially on offense where the team has the most consistency from last year to this, that makes me concerned about the future.

I watched the entire Kansas/USF game and the entire USC/OSU game.
You said that OSU had no business on the same field as USC. Would Kansas have any business on the same field as USC? Do you think Kansas would be more competitive with USC?
