Worst GM in the league?

Postby Flyn high again » Thu Sep 18, 2008 1:59 pm

Alright, guys. Here's your chance to tell us why your team's GM is the worst one in the league.

Being a die hard Bears fan for the last 40 years, I have seen several GMs come and go. Our current GM, Jerry Angelo is IMHO one of the worst we've had. We draft lousy RBs who hold out and get injured frequently. We can't find a decent QB anywhere. Our first round pick is a guy with back problems who hasn't played a snap yet. We hire mediocre Ron Turner for our Offensive Coordinator [twice]. We fire the Defensive Coordinator [Ron Rivera] who made the Bears Defense one of the best in the league. Grrr. Too bad Jim Finks passed away. We could use him today.
Go Bears!

Millen.

I've been a Bears fan for about half as long as you have. I agree that Angelo's first round picks in his tenure as Bears GM have been brutal.
David Terrell, Marc Coumbo, Rex Grossman, Michael Haynes, Tommie Harris, Cedric Benson, Greg Olsen, Chris Williams.
He's got a eye for late round talent though. He's also one of the best GM's when it comes to player relations.

It's pretty funny that Forbes issued their rankings of best GM's in professional sports (NBA, MLB, NFL, NHL), about a year and a half ago, and Angelo ranked eighth. :-D

Zygmunt...there it is, the guy literally knows nothing about football yet he insists on changing names around on the draft board come draft day, he.is.an.idiot. But Millen and Davis are very very close too.
