C. Johnson's value?

Postby fantasizing » Mon Sep 22, 2008 7:17 pm

What do u think about this guy? Is he an every week starter or good matchup fill in?

Seems like the only way he'll score any TDs is if he breaks one....which as we know, doesn't happen all that often.

The lack of TD production seems to hurt his fantasy value significantly...

Well - his value was actually higher before the season started due to the over-hype than it is now. I guess he's been moderately effective, but I haven't seen anything special. I've noticed that he's very easily brought down - more than half his carries last wk v Houston were of the one-yard variety before he was tripped up. It's going to be difficult for him to break long gains unless he's un-touched.

Also - the Titans went out of their way to limit Johnson this week, bringing Lendale White out to start both halves and collect the vast majority of meaningful touches. I think the majority of his games will be similar to the mediocre performance he had last week (70-some yds).

LenDale is pretty much only good as a TD Vulture. This week, it worked out well for him.

Johnson looks to me like the real deal. He'd be a top 12 F Back if he were allowed to run in the touchdowns that he earns for TN, rather than handing the ball to fat man White.

Neither LenDale or CJ is a great play unless the other gets hurt, then either is a top 10 RB. Either one could outproduce the other any given week.

I like LenDale a lot, he get's 15 touches a game, including goal line work. I'm not sure whats not to love with 4 TDs in 3 games.

His stats are the most consistent I've seen.

In a PPR CJ4.24's value is pretty high IMO. He is spitting carries with Lendale basically 50/50 and is getting all the receptions. He is a threat to break it at anytime as well.

CJ is just getting started, he will see quite a few games where he gets 20 carries and I think he can produce with that many touches, he is the playmaker on the offense and his best days to come...He's quietly the 2nd leading rusher in the AFC, Lendale will poach short yardage TD's but CJ will be a lower end RB2 this year.
