That's misleading - if you watched the game, most of those came in garbage time in 4WR and 5WR sets. I'm not saying he's a bad pickup, I'm just saying that I haven't really seen him work that true 3rd WR position.

Just an update on my previous post...
This week, Nelson was the 3rd WR in those sets. He still got most of his catches out of 4 and 5WR sets, but he was on the field. With Driver becoming increasingly unproductive, I could see Nelson becoming a pretty decent receiver in this offense in the absence of James Jones. And, if I'm right and Jones eventually replaces Driver (likely next year), both Jones and Nelson will be key contributors - after Jennings, of course.

At this point if Rodgers isn't 100% and/or Flynn is starting then Nelson's value pretty much plummets. We'll have to wait and see.
Don't know if anyone still cares about this, but if you do...
James Jones was back in the lineup part time today. He did see some action in a few 3WR sets. Jordy Nelson got on the field as well, so I don't know if this is going to be a rotational/package situation, or if James Jones still isn't 100%. In either case, it is difficult to tell who will see more targets at this juncture if both Driver and Jennings stay healthy. I thought we might learn more today when Driver hurt his hand, but it was minor - someone just stepped on it. My personal preference is Jones, simply because he is a second year guy rather than a rookie. But there is no denying the fact Nelson has been very good making use of the opportunities he's had.
If either of these guys get into the starting lineup, look out.

Thanks for the update dgan. I agree both Jones and Nelson both have plenty of upside.
