Week 10 wager...

I have a wager with my opponent for this week. We decided whoever wins gets to take a player from the other team, with 3 safety spots.

DEF: Tampa Bay
D: S.Ellis

The question is: who should I take and drop after this week?

LoL. We won't get hit for collusion. It was public from the get go and we asked if anyone opposed, and no one did. It'll be okay, I hope.

Why did you protect Gonzo over Holt/Williams, especially since he has Shockey? Oh well, hopefully for your sake it won't matter.

I left Holt off because he has a really bad secondhalf schedule, anyway. Good point on the Gonzo dealio, though. Here's to hoping.

yeah... i would've protected holt. if I were him and I won -- even though holt would help his team more -- i would probably take ricky from you just to thrash your team. you could survive with moss/smith but i think zero/thomas/hambrick would kill you the rest of the season. then i'd trade priest back to you for moss AND holt... but that's just my evil side talking.

My thoughts exactly. I'm pretty sure he has no interest in Gonzo, when guys like Ricky Williams and Torry Holt are just sitting there. Protecting Gonzo essentially means that you think he's better than Holt and Williams. Which is not true because Ricky was arguably the #1 draft pick going into this season, and right now Holt is the #1 WR.

This is an intersting idea for a league though. Maybe not for every week, but only the weeks where both teams don't have any starters on a bye.

Exactly, don't protect a TE over a stud RB and the hottest WR in the NFL. And I agree, if you win, take Edge.

I swapped out Gonzo for Ricky. It makes me look weak, but at least I won't actually be weak after the week. I was leaning towards Gonzo, because while Ricky is a great RB there are other great RBs and even good ones. Gonzo is the best TE there is and there are only 2 others (Sharpe and Shockey) even in his class. After those three there really aren't any others that can produce weekly. So by having Gonzo I am likely assured to outscore mostly everyone. Also, Wiliams' schedule against hard rushing D's and Holt's against harsh passing D's came into play.

I'd love some help here (http://www.fantasyfootballcafe.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=218396#218396), as well. So I don't have to worry about who I am going to have to give up, anyway.
