Xbox live question

Hey, guys.

I just got xbox live, but didn't realize that the cord is way too short. I'll need to grab a wireless network adapter so I can hook it up to my TV without it being connected to my modem. Now my question is, do I also need a wireless router? Xbox live isn't working for me right now with even hooking up the wires to the modem, but that's a different story.

yeah you need to have a wireless network in order for it to work which would require a wireless router.

since our router is broken I hook my ethernet cable straight to my modem, it works fine.

that only will work if your xbox is close enough to your modem for your ethernet cable to reach and you are willing to unhook the current connection. IMO a wireless router is worth having either way if you have multiple things connecting to the internet and especially if you have a laptop... just so much simpler.
