Why Lloyd over Davis - Bears?

I've heard Orton say that Davis was his primary receiver, it looked like Davis would be the #1 in training camp, but thus far it has been all Lloyd. Will Davis put up decent WR3 numbers this week with Lloyd out? Any Bear fans that can shed some light on the situation.

Davis is an okay possession receiver... he's not that fast, and not that great. He belongs on a team, but as a #2 or #3. And for a team that frequently passes in the 150-220 yard per game range, that's not fantasy viable.

Lloyd has underperformed for his career. He's got better hands, better athletic ability, and a little better speed. But with a lot of this, it has more to do with play calling than anything else, because Orton isn't exactly surveying the field and choosing his best option... just doing what he's told, as of late.

Last week it looked like the Bears were really trying to get Olsen involved in the passing game, I could see Orton forcing the ball to him a bit more with Lloyd out. Davis hasn't continued his preseason success through the regular season, he may be a starter but his skill set is that of a #3 or #4 NFL receiver.

I don't understand how Lloyd is having the success that he is.

Defenses seem to have forgotten that all you have to do is lay your pinky finger on him on the LOS and he is shut down. Guy could not beat a jam if his life depended on it.
