Edge is well respected by all for his past achievements but Tim is a better back at this point in his career. If Hightower was the featured back I think Zona's offense will be even better. I'm hoping Tim will get more touches in the future.

I see what you are saying but he is only getting a few touches a game. If he can get a significant amount of touches like 15-18, I bet his average would be higher...more like 4.3 yds per carry.

No point in throwing him into the starter role. A) Edge isn't playing bad B) He hasn't been mind blowing, which it basically takes to overthrow a starter in his position C) No need to put more yards on him than necessary, Edge won't be there for ever, and they can keep Hightower (who looks like their back of the future) that much fresher for the future.
This sounds like a Hightower owner simply wanting it for that reason alone. Edge hasn't played badly, and the split they have right now is working. Tim will get his turn, but right now there's zero reason to screw with things...

Edge is looking fine. No need to change.

Hightower's ypc will tend to be a bit lower if he's mainly being used in short yardage and goal line situations but it's a FAR stretch to assume he'd be doing as well as 4.3 ypc if he was getting the ball more per game. I think with Edge still sticking around that 4 ypc mark and the offense running well....why mess with what isn't broken? Hightower and Edge are both working well in their current roles so I don't see why they would even consider making a change at this point.

exactly, I was gonna say this last night, but had already gotten off and was too tired to open up the laptop. So killa, you're suggesting if they make Hightower the starter he'd end up with a ypc that's a lot higher, but...about the same as edge's, plus now you've got a fresh back to come in for GL carries.
