I'm shocked that Texas Tech moved up overall.

I know that Missou lost, and I know that past seasons aren't supposed to play a role, but just like usual as soon as TT stepped onto the field with an even barely competent opponent they go to overtime. I suppose I could cut them more slack if we hadn't seen them repeat the same thing year after year after year after year after year, and then do it again here the first chance they get.

Even though Nebraska can barely qualify as a competent opponent at least Texas Tech came away with the win. I'm cutting them slack for now since their offense is incredible if it's firing on all cylinders and hopefully their D can fall into line. We'll see what they're really made of in the next couple of weeks.

Alright, alright. Its gettin' a little deep in here. Normally, at 3-3 I wouldnt defend my boys, but you're talking like they're Washington, Syracuse, etc. They had a bad loss against Mizzou, but took two other ranked teams to the wire (TT and VT), and beat all their non-BCS, non-FCS four or more scores. I guess then 75% of FBS teams would have to be considered barely competent. }:-)

I agree that TT is probably overrated. I would argue the same for Fla and USC although their competition in the rankings keep gagging. I would also argue that if Okie St was a different OSU or if they'r acronym was LSU, they'd be ranked higher. Sandrock, how does Okie St remain 4 spots below Mizzou?

Yeah I don't get that either, how can they be behind Brigham Young, Georgia, Ohio State, and Utah as well. :-?

Something to note about Nebraska - their Strength of Schedule is #1, according to CBS Sportsline. Despite that, they've played two ranked opponents to within a TD each, one on their home field in a game the Huskers lost on a fluke play in overtime.

Does this mean Nebraska is a good team? Nope. It just means that all 3-3 records are not equal.

Does anyone have any other SOS rankings that are updated weekly? CBS' was the only one I could find...

My Beavers have the #10 ranked SoS, a win over a #1 team and they still classify as barely a competent team at this point in the season. And look at that, they're 3-3 too.

As for Oklahoma State, how can anyone possibly rank them so high? Their toughest games up to the point of the Missouri game were Troy and Texas A&M (cakewalks basically). So they beat Missouri and all of a sudden they're top 10 material after playing....nobody? I need to see something else before they're all of a sudden a top 10 team.

I'm not going to jump a team drastically just for having a big win without any other evidence to build a case. If that were the case I would have at least ranked my Beavers after upsetting the #1 team in the country.

But Okie St. did play somebody, they played Mizzou and beat them and they're undefeated. You have Utah ranked ahead of Okie St.....who have they played? Can't say the same for the Beavs, yeah they beat #1 but they're also 3-3, really I think the Beavs are A LOT better than what their record shows. :-?

Oklahoma State may have only one win against a ranked team and a bunch of cupcake wins but they have looked awesome all year, and in my opinion they are one of the better teams in the country right now. I could be wrong about them but I just can't see leaving them out of the top 10 right now.

It's all subjective though and different people rank different. Some people go by wins and losses and who's played who, while others rank based on who they feel are the better teams...and some do a combo of the 2. Nobody's right and nobody's wrong, it's all a matter of opinion really. ;-D

You really know how to kill a good debate, Met. Back to Sandrock, I'm surprised you'd make that argument based on who the teams you have in front of them have lossed to, coupled with who those teams have beaten. It seems like your singling out Okie St.
