I've got Marshall and Royal on my fantasy team in a ppr league (1 pt per reception) that starts 4 W/T's each week. Marshall and my other two starters (Wayne and Fitzgerald) are obvious every week starters but there really isn't a clear number 4 starter as of yet. Royal is getting to be a "hard to sit" option compared to my other receivers available... take a look:
Eddie Royal - 39 receptions 392 yards 2 TD's Antonio Bryant - 31 receptions 406 yards 1 TD's Jerricho Cotchery - 27 receptions 328 yards 3 TD's Tony Gonzalez - 27 receptions 290 yards 2 TD's
Stats wise Royal would be the clear number 4 on my team if I didn't have Marshall. I started both last night (Den vs NE) and it worked out ok but you gotta think that some games it might not.
Do any of you guys have the same situation? I've recently tried to move Royal for a solid number 4 but no takers yet. I know I could move Marshall but I really don't want to if I don't have to. I'm curious to see everyone else's thoughts about having two receivers from the same team on your fantasy team.
1) What are the chances that 2 WR on the same team have 100 yard/TD games 2) Whenever the team as a whole plays poorly, both your wide receivers will have an off day.
That being said there are exeptions, it's just not something I normally like to do. In the end, when you're talking about 4th WR, you usually just have to play who has the best matchup.
I think this is a strategy that is only sound certain weeks, week to week your bound to hurt your chances, I'm all for the QB/WR combo and actually like it, but two WR's can get you into some trouble certain weeks...Try to package 2 WR's together for an upgrade, you will probably get someone interested faster.

I got an offer tonight for a package deal...
I GIVE HIM: Cotchery and Royal
I GET: T.O.
Not a bad 4th W/T but I might be giving up too much in Cotchery. I already tried offering him Royal and Gonzo for T.O. but he countered with Royal and Cotchery. I'm on the fence right now although the Jets and Favre drive me crazy because they spread it around so much (not to mention Coles hogging the targets).
I've shopped Royal and Gonzo for Plaxico, Steve Smith, Roddy White, and a few others and there have been no takers. I'm just wondering if I could get more for Royal and Cotchery than T.O. I got an offer out right now for Andre Johnson (long shot).
I think the best I could probably do (knowing our league) besides T.O. is Plaxico, Witten, Roddy White, Houshmandzadeh, Randy Moss, Lee Evans, Hines Ward, Driver, and Santana Moss. Having said that, I think White, Houshmandzadeh, Witten, Plaxico, and T.O. are the best options for a solid #4
What do you guys think? Do you think I should try to get more for Royal and Cotchery or do you feel T.O. is enough?

Yeah Fitz and Boldin is probably the exception to the rule...

Thanks for the input. While your statement is true, I believe it's all about present value, and right now Royal is proving to be a ppr machine while T.O. is having QB issues in Dallas. Assuming Romo gets healthy soon, and assuming Roy Williams helps get rid of the double teams on T.O., then T.O.'s future value soars. It's all about winning this week to help get me to the playoffs though, not next week.
However...as I'm writing this something crossed my mind...maybe because I'm a Cotchery owner I'm biased in his value a little bit? Maybe I think he's worth more than what he actually is? In fact, you are exactly right... he was a 7th round draft pick, and so far he is playing like one. You know how we owners are though... we have the "My guy is worth more than your guy!" attitude. To prove my point here is the latest counter offer I just received...
I offered: Royal and Gonzo
For: Steve Smith (Car of course)
and
He countered with: Chris Cooley and Issac Bruce
For: Royal and Cotchery
Unbelievable!
I'm starting to think this might not be such a bad trade after all. I get a must start guy and take away the need to contemplate the matchups every week. No more... "I knew I should have started _____" or "I had a feeling I should have started _____, but _____ had the better matchup." or the best one...."I would have won if I would have gone with my gut and not played the matchup!"
Thoughts? Comments? - Thanks for everyone's input so far!
