Jets Defense/Special Teams - for real?!

Are the NY Jets DST for real this year? They are ranked in the Top 7 DSTs in my league (2pts/sack, 2pts/int, 2pts/fumble recovery, 2pts/safety, 6pts/TD).

I haven't seen them play, and I'm afraid their ranking is based too much on the one week explosion when they played Arizona.

They have a very favorable schedule the rest of the way, and wanted to know what you all thought about them.

I think this is the best answer - play them this week and see how it goes from there. I think they are a decent weekly play, but I don't know if I'd put all my eggs in their basket just yet...

I agree they are a great play this week!

I already have the Philly DST which is ranked #1 in my league. League requires us to carry 2 DSTs, and the Colts aren't really getting it done for me. I was looking for someone who has good matchups when Philly has a bad matchup, and the Jets fit very nicely.

The Jest don't appear to have a very good "real life" defense, so I was inquiring about the merits of them as a fantasy defense.

(all this over-analysis is due to that fact we have to pay for each WW transaction..if it was free, I would have made the move already)

Love the Jets defense. I used em against Cinci, Oakland and I am now using them against Kansas City. They have an extremely easy schedule from here on out

Jets D has been great this year against the run with the addition of Kris Jenkins in the middle. I believe they were ranked 3rd going into last weeks game against the run. They have struggled against the pass except Revis. They have been getting to the Qb as well and racking up sacks. Definetly a very good start this week at home against a horrible Chiefs team who will be without LJ once again.

Jets have a pretty favorable schedule going forward.

And from what I have seen, Manging likes to call an aggressive game. Lots of pressure on the QB. It really doesn't matter how many points you are giving up per game (real value for an NFL F), when you are consistently getting sacks and turnovers. Plus if you are in a D/ST league, NYJ has one of the best special teams in the game IMO.
