09 Change- Switch from Team DEF to IDP

Postby mariners100 » Wed Oct 29, 2008 1:39 pm

League overview- 20 player (10-15 keepers per team), 2 IR spots. We pay $20.00 per team and the pay outs are 1st place $110, 2nd place- $40, 3rd place- $30, 4th place-$20.

Right now we have team DEF, 2 pts for Sack, Fumble Recovery, INT, 6 pts for TD, and scoring rules that the team gives up.

We have all agreed to scrap team DEF and go to IDP (Individual Def. Players) for 09 and I was looking for some help.
1- I was looking at a scoring system like this: Solo Tackle = 1 point, Sack = 3 points, Interception = 5 points is that pretty standard?

2- The keepers rules are pretty simple, you have to start them during 1 week of the year to be eligible to be kept, should I just not allow the team DEF's to be kept?

3- What starters should I use? DB, DL, LB or some sort of flex position? Would you use all of those positions?

Thank you for your help! ;-D

well ive seen it done two ways:

1) you start like 2 DBs, 2 LBs, and 2 DLs, or 2/3/3 or whatever combo
2) you start whatever number of DB/DL/LB so basically any IDP. my league does it this way with 2 flex IDPs and i like it

for scoring i think the most common is 1 solo tackle, 1/2 assist tackle, 2 sack, 2 int, 2 fumble rec, 2 forced fumble, 6 for a td

For some strange reason my league stats both team def and 3 IDP. Although it dosent make much sense I love it, it adds something more into the league to concern yourself with.

I agree, my league starts a team defense and 1 IDP, but I see no reason to get rid of the team D.

We are allowed to start a 4-3, 3-4, or Nickel defense. Yes, we start 11 IDP.
