With the possibilty of Cadillac returning from injury in the next couple weeks, is he worth a roster spot? Also what might be the situation in Tampa Bay? Graham is too talented to sit and Dunn is not at all a #3 running back on any depth chart. What's going to happen?
From what I've read he has been practicing and may come back after their bye week next week. But if he does come back I'm guessing it will be in a limited role and they will ease him back and get him ready for the 09' season.
Coach Jon Gruden announced Monday that RB Earnest Graham suffered a knee injury during Sunday's overtime win against the Chiefs.
Graham will be evaluated early this week. Gruden admitted to being "worried about" the severity of the injury, but acknowledged that the Bucs have a bye in Week 10.
If Graham is out for any time and Caddy is available and ready, I would think that they'd use him - could actually be a perfect fit, as Caddy can never stay healthy over a full season, but could be dynamite for a handful of games. All speculation at this point, but it's not so far-fetched that Caddy becomes relevant again this year....
Think about it, Williams has had any football contact of nearly two years, do you really think Tampa is gonna throw him in their at this point, unless they have no other option?
I picked him up just in case. I have a spot on my team for crazy nonsense and projects and I took the flyer. Is he going to be in incredible shape the first week he plays? No. Is his knee going to be fully healed at any time this season? Unlikely. But they have to put him on the 53 man roster this week or on IR per his listing on the PUP so we will know before next weeks games (which is a BYE for Tampa). Keep in mind he had a really bad knee injury and has had a lot of time off. But I know another guy in that situation coming into this year who has fared pretty well. Come to think of it, they played on the same team in college, at the same time...in the same backfield. Hmmmm....I wonder how Caddy would look running the Wildcat?
12 team redraft: QB Warner; RB LT, R. Brown, F. Jones; WR R. Moss, V. Jackson; TE Carlson: LB Barrett Ruud; DL Kevin Williams; DB Erik Coleman; K Prater: Bench -- Wells, Sproles, Ginn, Coffee, Campbell, Norwood, Meachem, Henry, Davis, Britt
Ronnie Brown, Duece McAllister, Reggie Bush. They all came off of knee injuries and have performed well. It's not far fetched to think that Caddy will be able to contribute. With Graham underperforming, and Dunn and Bennett not capable of being a feature back, Caddy could step in a produce.
I agree that they will probably ease him back in slowly, but I'm not thinking about the next couple of weeks, I'm thinking about the fantasy playoffs. Caddy was too good last year not to at least consider picking him up.
Williams (knee) practiced in pads on Monday, the Tampa Tribune reports. Spin: The Tribune speculates that the Bucs are seriously considering adding Williams to the 53-man roster in time for this week's match-up with Minnesota. He'd likely be third on the depth chart, but could see some carries if the Tampa backfield remains nicked up.
Graham and Dunn have had a week to rest as had BJ Askew (FB). But should on or more of those injuries still be hanging about I think Caddy gets called up this week. Either way I think things are pointing to him making the 53 man roster on Wednesday unless an injury elswhere in the lineup causes a need that can't be avoided. In which case Caddy will go to IR.
