Up by a little under 3 points and I have david akers left opp has noone. I am going to start him regardless in a league where turnovers are -3 and there is no penalty for missed kicks...

when was the last time there was a fake FG with a pass to /rush by the kicker who subsequently fumbled? :-o

I had Akers last year on a play where I needed 3 points, they faked the FG and he got a crucial 8-10 yard reception that kept the drive going, he eventually just ended up with an XP and I lost. Uggh.

Still, I applaud keeping him in the lineup. Most would say to make sure to get the win, but I don't like to run scared like that. Keep him in and take the cosmetically more pleasing 8 to 15 point win.
... in my opinion, of course - but that should always go without saying.

Disclaimer: I accept no responsibility if you have a freak loss with BOTH an Akers fumble and the Eagles not even scoring 1 point this week.

Don't forget about the INT thrown by the kicker on the FG fake.

Sit him and you could end up losing a tie breaker situation by the points he would have gotten you. Kickers losing points is very rare, don't sweat it.

isn't it usually the holder that plays the role of the quarterback on fakes?

as for a tie-breaker... I have a tie in this league -- so I would only possibly ever have a tie in points with one other team ... i guess it could happen. O:-)

You've obviously never seen highlights of Super Bowl VII with Garo Yepremian's "pass."

Seriously, we are talking about a kicker getting negative points. When was the last time that happened to you. The only way it would happen would be on an absolute freak of the century play.

If your fantasy website is anything like Cbs Sportsline, I would highly recommend starting him. It's not uncommon for someone in my league to go to bed Monday night thinking they won by a couple points, only to have the computer adjust scoring overnight by a few points! Unless you've calculated all the scores a couple times, just start him to avoid this scenario.

matmat is right, the holder is usually the back up QB so if there are any fakes the holder will either fumble or throw the INT. I doubt the holder will throw to the Kicker. those guys way like 145 pounds. start him ...
