Shutout = 18 points .... 14-20 pts yielded = +2 points, 21-27 pts yielded = 0 points .... 35+ pts yielded = -8 points
I idiotically took the Jets as a spot/bye start against the floundering Raider. They gave up 24 points so all I got from them was a sack.
Here's my question:
Since they gave up 6 points on a punt return, shouldn't their defense only get tagged with giving up 18 points, so I should be getting a couple of points based on 14-20 pts. yielded by their defense? Or is that punt return considered points yielded by their defense/special teams?
Apart from everybody's opinion on what the rule should be, does anyone know for sure what the ultimate ruling will be? I'm curious -- I've got a 10.5 point lead going into tonight with my opponent having Longwell. I really don't want a loss with the 2nd highest point total in the league this week.
Also, on the off chance that this might work out in my favor, does the commish in my league have to rerun stats for this? I'm playing against the commissioner this week.
Thanks for any definitive input.
