Nov 10 Running back Charlie Garner did not return to Sunday’s game against the Jets after injuring his back on the Raiders’ first play from scrimmage. Head coach Bill Callahan told the Oakland Tribune on Sunday that x-rays were in fact negative, but that his medical staff advised against using Garner any further.
Views: In Garner’s absence, Tyrone Wheatley carried the ball 23 times for 75 yards and rookie Justin Fargas got 16 carries and 62 yards. The injury does not sound serious at this point, but it will be telling if Garners is able to go when the Raiders return to practice this week. With the porous Minnesota defense on tap this Sunday, fantasy owners in need of a possible sleeper should keep a close eye on this.
