Players to target for fantasy playoffs

Postby mystykoekaki » Sat Nov 22, 2008 12:11 am

What are some of your players that you are trying to target for the fantasy playoffs, either starting in week 14 or week 15? I'll try to keep the running list up to date as much as possible.

Try to give a valid reason, such as: injury to starter, starter benched cause team clinched playoff spot, or good matchup.

Thanks for your input.

Players:

-QB-
Tyler Thigpen - Schedule

-WR-
Bryant Johnson - Schedule
Donnie Avery - Schedule
Jordy Nelson - Schedule
Wes Welker - Schedule

-RB-
Ward/Bradshaw - Possibility due to playoff clinch
Leon Washington - Possibility due to playoff clinch, Schedule
Antonio Pittman - Sjax injury more than once thought?
Joseph Addai - Schedule
Pierre Thomas - Possible Deuce suspension, Bush perhaps not 100%. Schedule

-TE-

-K-

-DEF-

-IDP-

I'll start, with the likeness that NYG gets possible home field advantage, picking up or stashing either Ward or Bradshaw would be a sneaky move.

Well beyond the Ronnie Browns, etc. that most everyone realizes...

...Leon Washington has pretty cushy playoff schedule and if the Jets clinch, he could see some time...he already does see some time and does a lot with it.

Antonio Pittman should definitely be snagged as there are grumblings that Sjax is done for the year and week 15 and 16 their schedule is a cakewalk.

watch the NFC North very closely Minnesota, Green Bay and Chicago all of easy schedules against the run weeks 14,15, and 16. Or well the Pack plays the Bears week 16, but other than that.

San Francisco receivers have an easy schedule weeks 15 and 16, With Morgan out for awhile, possibly the year, Bryant Johnson is worth a look...

Donnie Avery, weak playoff schedule, chance to get the rookie some more work. Of course, he's probably not on the WW in any leagues...but maybe.

If somehow The Pack manages to clinch the north, Jordy Nelson week 16 plays a very weak Bears' secondary.

just some thoughts I had.

If you could have aquired Addai prior to his big last week then the next 4 weeks look real good for players on the Colts.

Remaining 4 games after this weekend: @ CLE, CIN, DET, @ JAX

also someone to add:

If you can get him somehow, Thigpen, according to my calculations, he has the easiest fantasy playoff schedule of any quarterback and has good receiving options to go to.

Pierre Thomas could be pure gold if Bush can't get it going and Deuce gets the 4 game suspension. To top it all off, he would get Detroit in Week 16 :-L :-L :-L
