I'm the Commissioner of a dynasty league that is in its second season. I have trust and faith in my Vice Commish, but he is involved in a questionable trade that is waiting for my approval/rejection. What makes this difficult is that his trading partner is also his real-life friend. There is a $300 prize for first place, $150 for second
This is a very critical decision. An uneven trade could potentially cripple a team for several seasons, which would diminish the competitiveness of the league. Though, vetoing an honest trade could affect the relationship between the Vice Commish and me.
Team A gets: Jay Cutler - QB, DEN Jerious Norwood - RB, ATL Nate Washington - WR, PIT Packers D/ST
Current, Pre-Trade Roster: QB: Tony Romo, Eli Manning, Matt Ryan, Chad Henne RB: Ronnie Brown, Jonathan Stewart, Laurence Maroney, Dominic Rhodes WR: Plaxico Burress, Derrick Mason, Roy Williams, Antwan Randle El, Darrell Jackson TE: Dallas Clark, Jeremy Shockey, Robert Royal D/ST: Panthers, Steelers K: Jason Elam, Robbie Gould
This trade seems to make no sense for this team. He already has four QBs; Tony Romo, Eli Manning, Matt Ryan, and Chad Henne. He definitely doesn't need another QB.
His WR core isn't exactly strong. Yes, Nate Washington is young, but so is Roy Williams. I just don't get why you would get rid of Roy when he's a part of Dallas' high-powered offense. After all, Tony Romo will be returning soon, so Roy will be good towards the end of the year. With this being a dynasty league, I can't stop scratching my head. His other WRs are Plaxico Burress, Derrick Mason, Antwan Randel El, and Darrell Jackson.
Team B gets: Jonathan Stewart - RB, CAR Roy Williams - WR, DAL Steelers D/ST Robert Royal - TE, BUF
Current, Pre-Trade Roster: QB: Aaron Rodgers, Jay Cutler, Brady Quinn, Shaun Hill RB: Steven Jackson, Marshawn Lynch, Jerious Norwood, Peyton Hillis, Pierre Thomas, Fred Jackson WR: Reggie Wayne, Brandon Marshall, Calvin Johnson, Nate Washington TE: Kellen Winslow, Zach Miller D/ST: Jaguars, Packers K: Phil Dawson

This trade makes better sense for this team.
I see no problems with the trade. I agree that it doesn't really make sense for team A, but as a commish it's not our job to determine what "makes sense" when evaluating trades. Team A would have so much depth at QB (after getting Cutler) that he could trade Romo, Eli, or Ryan for a desperately needed starting RB. The only reason why you should veto this trade is if you think the owners are colluding/cheating to make 1 team better. Otherwise you have to let it go...even though it might make no sense to you. Good luck!
I wanted to make sure that bias wasn't blinding me here. I didn't want any kind of collusion to fly under the radar. I'll go ahead and approve this trade.
