Can somebody explain why the national championship shouldn't be Alabama-Florida? Is it just because people don't want to see a rematch? If that's the case that's pretty screwed up.

These were all before the two conference championship games, but you get the point. Alabama hasn't faced nearly the competition the other four have. They belong NOWHERE near this conversation after their loss.

So here you have five one-loss teams, and you're seriously asking why the one with worst SOS of the bunch isn't getting in to the MNC game?

This is how screwy the computer polls are.

Cincinnati came back and edged out Hawaii in a meaningless game late last night. That computer poll ranks Florida #3. Had Hawaii held on at the end of that game, it would have had Florida ranked #1.

A couple points in a game of Cincinnati vs. Hawaii is worth 2 spots in the poll. Nice.

So how incredibly overrated was the SEC this year? 2 good teams, 1 decent team and a bunch of mediocre to awful teams. Without pretty much every SEC team scheduling patsies at home to start the season how bad could this season have looked for the SEC?

It just seems like a weird time for this comment. We have no idea if the SEC was overrated this year. The national championship game should tell us a lot (although I personally don't think the Big 12's best team is playing in it), but maybe more so, the other bowl games will tell us a lot.

The Cotton bowl should be a great game this year and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Ole Miss win that one. Even without a line, I'm leaning towards picking Ole Miss right now.

Alabama should mop the floor with Utah, although I'm not sure which team that would say more about.

Michigan St. is pretty good this year, so we'll see just how good that Georgia team is.

But really, why make this post now? Really nothing new has surfaced, because we just saw the 2 best SEC teams play against each other, so that doesn't really tell us much about them...
