For all of the poor owners of Shockey: Who do we pick up?
He may not have had many TD's but he had more receptions than anyone else on my team. He gave me about 8-10 pts a week, and they will be missed. Just another one on my team to bite the dust. This season I have lost :Warner, Faulk, Shockey, C. Rogers, Booker, and Boston all to injury at rather significant times.
My league sucks because no one will trade. I figured I could get someone for Warrick or Bennett, but Im getting no bites. I went ahead and picked up Kleinsasser from Min. as a FA.
I got lucky and traded A. Johnson for Pollard straight up. If Harrison is hurt or limited, Pollard should get more looks. I would be starting Kleinsasser if the trade didn't work out.
Dallas Clark is my back up,,,,but Daniel Graham looks to be my new starter and your right about Shockey's #'s,,,,,,in my league .5 per reception,,,Shockey was always hovering around the 7pt a week plateau

Fortunately, Pollard was on waivers in my league and I picked him up for nothing. One owner had Pollard and Clark and got fed up with the two of them splitting the catches every week. This was before Pollard's big game this Sunday. He dropped them both for another TE. I forget too. I could do a lot worse than Pollard to replace Shockey.
You might also consider playing matchups each week. Find two or three tight ends who get a touchdown now and then and pick the one who has the most favorable matchup that week.
