Free MFL Playoff Leagues

Postby treat24 » Wed Dec 17, 2008 6:18 pm

Stemming from the other thread... Myfantasyleague.com has free playoff leagues. I just thought I'd let you know about this in case you wanted to try out the myfantasyleague.com site and get a glimpse of what it's like. Play actual weeks and for free.

For those of you who don't know or haven't played in them... A playoff league runs during the NFL Playoffs (wildcard weekend through the Superbowl). You draft and start only players in the playoffs. Once a player's team is eliminated that played doesn't get anymore points obviously. So for instance, during the draft you have to weigh drafting a guy like Adrian Peterson who might have one game, but a huge one... vs Jonathan Stewart who might be in for 2-3 average games. Interesting little thing.

Just for reference... I have found the best system to be:

    8-10 teams (8 is better)
10-12 man roster (10 is better, but it's not a big deal)

    qb (teamqb might be better)
    rb
    rb
    wr
    wr
    te
    k (teamk might be better)
    d/st (teamd/st might be better)

I have found a 3rd WR or flex spot is generally overkill.

    Trades shouldn't be allowed.

Add/Drops could be allowed, but aren't super necessary.

Total Points is probably best as well as opposed to head to head
