You guys understand why he asked that right? You don't find it disgusting that Marinelli hired his daughter's husband to be the defensive line coach? (I'm sure he's highly qualified as evidenced by his work in Detroit )

I don't think it is a running joke, but maybe more about how this city is sick of the cronyism among imbeciles leading this franchise.

To clarify the whole incident, Det News reporter Rob Parker has been asking head coach NimRod* Marinelli why he hasn't fired his DC, who is his son-in-law, despite the fact that the Lions D is the worse in the league and that other teams have fired their DCs this season and played better for it. NimRod* Marinelli has never answered the question other than to say that the D is being run the way he wants it and that the son-in-law knows how to teach the Tampa Two D scheme.
I applaud Parker for asking a tough question, but he went a bit over-board yesterday. After asking about why the DC still has a job, and asking NimRod* Marinelli to talk specifically about the DC, and hearing the usual non-answer answer of "I take responsibility blah blah" Rob Parker than added, I'm paraphrasing, "On a lighter note, do you wish your daughter would have married a better offensive coordinator"?

The talking heads at FOX NFL, Bradshaw blew up saying that Parker should be banned from the clubhouse and adding why would he want to attack a coach with a 0-15 record. Others added how noble it is that NimRod* Marinelli stands up there and answers all questions. Which shows that they know very little of which they speak. NimRod* Marinelli answer all questions with rhetoric about how it is all "On me", "I believe in what I am doing" and "We will just go back to work Monday". He never answers any questions, and deserves no credit for that.
Rob Parker never said anything disparaging about his daughter, just Nimod* and his son-in-law.
