That's right, I just won my championship game in my money league for the second time in a row. Regular season record was 5 and 8 both years. My teams just have a way of showing up in the playoffs!

I won my money league last year with a 7-6 record going into the playoffs. I just won my league this year with a 6-7 record going into the playoffs and I backdoored into the playoffs by the guy that would have kicked me out losing by less then 5 points on the final regular season weekend. Heh.
Curious to see how many people they let in the playoffs to make it in at 5-8, or were there 4 in a 10 team league and you had the highest numbers. To me, the total points mean more to how far you came than a record that was tarnished maybe by a bad matchup or two.
Agreed, some background information such as number of teams in the league, number of teams which make the playoffs, total points scored, etc. is needed.
I suspect this is something like a 10-team league where 8 teams make the playoffs.

You're wasting 13 weeks of your life if teams with 5-8 records make the playoffs. That's got to mean that more than 1/2 of the league makes the playoffs, which is a serious joke. Any fantasy team can win a head to head matchup one week, or even go on a 3-week roll, which is exactly why we never have more than 1/2 of the league make our playoffs, and why we also distribute half the total prize money based solely on regular season performance (with the other half decided during the playoffs). How can you have a "champion" who still has only won 1/2 of his games, even counting the playoffs?
10 team league. 6 teams make playoffs. Winner of each of the two divisions gets a bye. Last 4 slots are populated by the top 4 records left of players.
Division 1 winner was 7-6, Division 2 winner was 11-2
Division 1 had 1 other team make the playoffs at 6-7 Division 2 had 3 teams fill the last 4 slots. One was 11-2, another at 8-5, and me at 5-8.
As for points scored, The two 11-2 teams had 1441 and 1454 points respectively. I had third highest at 1360. Next team after that was 1273
