Fantasy Playoff Receivers ??? Sleepers that is

Postby senseiosin » Wed Nov 12, 2003 4:48 pm

Thinking of some sleeper ww receivers who may come on strong for the fantasy playoffs. here are a few I came up with, any others or opinions?

Ashley Lelie

Kevin Johnson (assuming he gets picked up by Philly or whatever)

Tyrone Calico

Troy Brown

Corey Bradford

Ive got Moulds or D.Jackson as my #2 receiver, they've both been sucking pipe all season so Im looking for a replacement to play along Moss in my lineup.
The only thing we have to fear is.... another injured Denver RB!!!!!!!!

come playoff time, if they havn't established themselves they're not gonna be worth it. Because chances are if you're in the playoffs you're pretty much set. But nice work ;-D

Calico isn't a bad option, but I don't think Troy Brown will do squat. Brady likes to spread his targets around. Let's face it, what has he been since the Super Bowl win?

Call me crazy, but I think at some point a Philly WR may have to score a TD (one actually did for the 1st time last week) and probably some more. Maybe Thrash or Pinkston for sleepers?

Some others:

Dez White
Jerome Pathon (Stallworth has been Stallworth-less)
Rod Gardner (he's got to turn it back on at some point)
Antwaan Randle-el

Philly receivers are amazingly terrible. It's hard to find sleepers around this time when it comes to wr's. Chances are that they have been taken by now. If you are talking about match-ups for the fantasy play-offs these guys may be hanging around the ww:

week 15/16 match-ups to exploit

Bobby Engram StL./AZ
Mushim Muhammid AZ/Det.
Javon Walker SD/Oak
Eddie Kennison Det/Min
Troy Brown Jax/NYJ

I agree with Lelie. Another WR to consider is KRob. I dont know he would qualify as a sleeper yet, but his performance so far has been in a "deep sleep." Anyways he has pretty easy matchups:
15 - STL (Hope for a shootout)
16 - ARZ
17 - SF (Primetime Saturday)

So he should have good games if you want to snag him and let him hide away on your bench and see if he continues to improve.

Just imagine if he performs like he did the second half of last season.

I wholeheartely agree that Lelie will be huge now that Plummer is coming back. Sucked rocks with Stevie B. and Danny boy but Jake's the guy to get it deep where Lelie thrives. I carry three receivers in keeper league......R. Moss, Lelie and P. Warrick and am thinking of dropping Warrick for another RB. That's how confident I am of him coming through.

Saw a mention for Dez White. As a thirty year Bear fan...you don't want Dez. If ANY Bears....go with Justin Gage. Then again, their talking about going to Grossman once they are mathematically eliminated.

The Calico and KJ picks are intriguing also.....

What if we get Plummer 2002 rather than the early season 2003 version? That won't help Lelie.

Yes, if we get Plummer 2002, that will only be good for Boldin.
