There is no such thing as defensive holding thats BS, let them play idiots those refs suck. IDC the chargers suck and aren't even close to being better than the Colts .

This was actually maybe the most ironic ending I've ever seen. Defensive holding was one of the penalties that has been enforced wayyyyyyy more tightly ever since the Colts whined and whined and whined about the Pats DBs being physical with their receivers in the AFC championship game back in 03.

Foose, if any team in this game proved they couldn't win the Super Bowl this season it was the Colts. That team is far too one-dimensional on both sides of the football (can't run, can't stop the run) to have ever had a legitimate chance to win the big one this season. If you cannot run the ball effectively, you will never put a team away late by controlling the clock.

Furthermore, the San Diego special teams was absolutely phenomenal tonight; Mike Scifres put on the greatest punting performance in the history of professional football today.

Yes - SD won the toss, got the ball, and scored.

But this ending is the perfect counter-argument to those who want to change the OT system.
IND was so bad on defense and they practically gave the game to SD with those penalties. They didn't deserve to get the ball back.

Why not? :-?

Indy's team is built around a huge high-scoring offense. While that game wasn't a shootout, in any shootout they have a huge advantage. Why should they be at a disadvantage based on how their team is built? :-?

That was their decision to build their team that way.

But there are 3 facets to any football game (OF, DEF, and ST) and you need to be able to play all 3.

I'd attribute the big Win to these players whose last name begins with the letter S:
1. Sproles - standout performance
2. Scifres - solid punting
3. Session - senseless facemask penalty on that 3rd and 8
4. San Diego Chargers - strong will and determination to Win

SD had alot of momentum going in regardless of the record but I still thought the Colts would pull this one out.
