I was just offered Oshiomogho Atogwe for my Bob Sanders. On pure talent I think you have to go with Sanders, but Atogwe has less of an injury history. This makes Sanders a bit more of a high/risk guy. Another thing to conside are the new Indy and St. Louis coaches Does Spagnuolu coaching the Rams and Dungy no longer coaching Indy make this a good move?
I am not really an IDP guy, but you have to factor in that Sanders will miss 3-5 games a year due to injury. Plus, Atogwe is a free agent. I would wait and see where he ends up.
In this case, I would agree with 49ers.....wait & see.
Personally, I'm not a big fan of Sanders from a ff standpoint simply because of all the missed time he has each season. And I do prefer safties over cornerbacks. If you're looking at trading Sanders, I'd look for someone who has a history of playing at least 90% of the time during the season first, then look at their points-per-game average (for your league), and go from there.
IDP sleeper: SabbyP in Tampa Bay (with Jermaine Phillips strongly rumored to be on his way out & he did quite well when he was starting for an injured Phillips last season).
I'm not sure what the other posters are smoking, but Osh is the 2nd best dynasty DB in IDP tackle-friendly leagues. If you can acquire him, do so. Sabby is a terrific buy-low candidate as someone else stated, but I'd also keep an eye on Tyrell Johnson of Minnesota. He's young, is playing behind a dominant front four, and is taking over for Sharper.

Atogwe is a FS, not a CB...so that part's not even valid. I would do this trade in a heartbeat without even thinking twice...Atogwe is an excellent fantasy DB and while Sanders is a better actual safety, he just doesn't stay healthy. Atogwe now has had 3 straight seasons with 70+ tackles and has averaged just over 5 INTs per season in that stretch while playing every game. Sanders has missed just fewer games (23) than he has played (25).
You need to pull the trigger on this now, but I do think it's a little closer than these guys are saying. I do it simply for health reasons and potential for big plays.

How is it close? Atogwe and Sanders produce similar fantasy numbers but Atogwe plays twice as often...seems pretty cut and dry. Last season Atogwe averaged 8.8 FP per game over 16 games (in standard scoring), Sanders averaged 6.5. In 2007 Atogwe averaged 8.2 FP per game over 16 games and Sanders with 7.7 per game over 15 games. Just curious as to why you think it's close at all.

I just came here to post almost the exact same thing. Atogwe is much better than Sanders in fantasy football.
