This is the epitomy of sell high! Personally, I'd rather keep a RB instead of a WR but Slaton is still young. 12 team, keep-2, standard scoring league. Would ya'?
Depends on who your other keeper is? I'm pretty sure I would rather keep Fitz over Slaton in a keep two, as he is easily a top-5 WR every year and Slaton could slow down (even if it's only a little bit) and prolly be had in the draft again after the '09-10 season. Like I said though, I'd like to hear who your other keeper is
What are your other keepers, or potential keepers? What is your draft position? I would look at your roster, the other teams rosters and judge on who will be kept ahead of you and who could potentially be available to you. If for example you are drafting 5th and the four teams ahead of you will all most likely keep two rb's then odds are they will make a run on wr's and a rb could slide to you. I think alot depends on who you have on your roster, your draft order and what the other needs are. I'm personally a big Fitz fan and not really high on Slaton, but that is just me and Fitz may slide down some if Warner decides to retire this season. But before I make my decision on the two look at the draft order and come up with potential mock drafts and see who may slide to you. Good luck.
Personally, I'd rather have Fitz as he is a dominant performer at his position, whereas Slaton is a "very good" performer at his. I'd prefer to have the player who can give me a decided advantage.
Agree with the others that knowing your roster would be helpful.
12-team PPR, start 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 1 flex (RB/WR/TE), 1D/ST Unlimited keepers, but more than 6 cost draft picks, starting w 1st Rnd
I would much rather have Fitz. You know what you are getting, he will be a top 3 stud WR. Slaton had a very good rookie year, but can he keep it up? He isn't a big back, so how much punishment can his body take. I would wait until after the draft before making any decisons. I think Houston may draft a bigger back to take goal line carries and spell Slaton to keep him fresh.

No way am I dealing Fitz for anything lower than a top-7 RB, regardless of how many you are keeping. And I don't forsee Slaton EVER being a top-7 RB.

Just for reference's sake, Slaton was RB8 in standard scoring leagues last year.

I understand that. My point is that I believe that if HOU does indeed bring another RB via draft or FA (and I would be SHOCKED if they don't) then he likely hit his max production level. Sorry I am just not that high on Slaton... I believe his numbers were more a product of an opportunity (they had little in the way of other options as injuries hit the RB corps) in a good HOU offense than by his talent. I still contend that Slaton is ideally a 3rd down back that can be featured for stretches if injuries plague the RB corps again. While he withstood the punishment pretty well last year, he's still a small back... and the hits add up. I just don't see the upside others do... and if I am trading away the HOTTEST WR name, I am getting back better value than Steve Slaton.
