Here is the situation. An owner in my league is looking to move either MJD, Forte, or Hightower. He is looking for a QB specifically, but has told me he would trade one of them for the right deal. This is a 16 team, 9 player keeper with standard scoring (1 pt=10yds receiving/rushing) & ppr league where all TD's are 6 pts. We Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 RB/WR/TE, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 Def.
My question is, should i try and trade for MJD or Forte?
Here are the rosters and draft picks.
My team: QB-E. Manning, Leinart RB-Addai, LT, LJ, Mcfadden, Sproles, Ward, M. Bush WR-Ginn, Holt, Johnson, S. Smith(NYG) TE-Cooley, Lewis K-Hartley Def-Broncos, Saints Draft picks (overall picks=9 rounds, 16 picks/round) - 48,58,63, 99,105,115,121,131,137
His team: QB-Favre, Losman, Edwards, V. Young RB-MJD, Forte, Hightower, Harrison, Mendenhall WR-Cotchery, J. Lee Higgins, Evans, N. Washington TE- Daniels, Rosario K-Prater, Rackers Def-Jets, Bucc Draft picks-74,87,90,103,106,119,122,134,138
If you think I should try and trade for one of those RB's, what should I offer?
I wouldn't touch his RBs. He is going to ask for a lot for those players and your strongest position is also RB. Your only valuable asset outside the RB position is Eli and you can't enter next season with only Leinart at QB. If you're going to trade, it should be for WRs.
If he's looking for a QB specifically your probably out of luck, unless you can throw another deal his way that he likes...I doubt Eli gets you MJD or Forte, you would probably still need another player, and then Leinart looks like he won't even play for another 2 years now, so who would you roll with at QB? I don't know if I'd want to go into the season without one QB even if my RB's were alot stronger.

It would be nice to have MJD or Forte considering that these 2 have nice sleeper values in PPR leagues but i don't think you can trade any of your QBs unless he would be interested in some other player of yours. If you are a risktaker though, you have some options to explore using LT, LJ and Addai as your trade bait.

Thats kind of what I was thinking, pairing Eli with LJ or LT (I have a possible trade for M. Ryan). I am pretty deep at RB for a 16 team league, but I also know I have greater needs than RB. Just the thought of being able to get MJD or Forte is one thats hard to ignore.

I'd offer up Eli and one of those RBs for either MJD and Forte. With your RB depth, you should be able to trade for a mid-tier QB to hold you over. If you can get either Forte or MJD for one of those older RBs and Eli, I'd jump at the chance...
