I run a Dynasty IDP league, and we are having trouble deciding how many players should be protected from an entering expansion team.
This is the rule as it is setup now:
Expansion teams are only to be added in groups of 2, and no more than 2 a season.
Rules for expansion teams player picks:
All current teams are allowed to protect 3 players on their roster.
Predraft player acquisition:
(1.) Only 1 unprotected player may be chosen from each established team, for a max of 10.
(2.) # of selected players at a given position are limited by starting lineup. (1QB, 2RB, 1WR/RB, 2WR, 1TE, 1K, 1LB, 1DB, 1DL, 1DP)
(3.) Following the draft expansion teams may finish filling their rosters from the Free Agent pool if they so wish.
Right now the 10 teams we have are able to protect 3 of their current players.
In essence this would give each expansion team a roster of #4 picks, and a very competitive team.
Some of the league have said that 3 isnt enough, just wondering what the thoughts on this are.
