Steven Jackson Trade

I am in a league where we keep two players (who must be of different positions). I am set with my 1st keeper (Fitzy) and I am trying to trade for a second keeper. Currently my second keeper is Slaton but I fear he will lose TDs when they bring in a big back. On owner has D. Ward and S. Jackson available for trade. I am leaning towards getting Jackson.

How much, basically draft picks, would be a good buy for him? I have the 10th pick in a serpentine draft. I also have two 3rd round picks due to a trade last year.

I really doubt you will get him for the 10th pick in the draft. You will have to add a pretty significant player into the deal as well as package a pick or two.

It is possible you can get Jackson for Slaton and a late 2nd or early 3rd. Is the owner not keeping him at all?

He isn't keeping him because he is keeping another player. Giving slaton wouldn't help him because we only keep two players and they can't be the same position. I am trying to dangle Boldin. So, would a 3 straight up be worth it?

For you, yes. ;-D
But seriously, what would be his other options for a 2nd keeper? Any halfway decent offer better than what he's got is fair game. Boldin for SJax is ok, as you both couldn't keep them, and they're both 1st/2nd round players. I might also go Boldin/3rd Rd for SJax, which is more of an even trade.

Well I think alot depends on what St. Louis does in the draft and where Ward ends up. SJax obviously has the higher upside of the two backs, but he has been injury prone and there o-line is in need of some help. With Ward it all depends on where he ends up. I think you can get Ward for a 5th rd possibly right now, but his stock could rise or fall depending on where he signs. I wouldn't give up too much for SJax unless they get some additional o-line help. If it were me I would go after Ward now, offer him a low draft pick and see what happens and then hope that Ward ends up in a good situation. Good luck.

If I were you I would just keep Slaton, and be happy with 1800 yds and close to 10 TDs.

IMH Slaton > Ward. We have seen what Slaton can do as the primary ball carrier. He may lose a few TDs, but that only happens if the Texans bring in a big back, and there is no guarantee that they do. I also don't have Slaton ranked much lower than SJax.

I would only go after SJax, and then only if the price is right. If he will do Boldin straight up for SJax, that would be the best case for you. However, I think he is going to want a pick, and I wouldn't even throw in more than a mid round pick(maybe 6th round).
