I am in a second year keeper league (keep 8 players). 12 team PPR league with 6 points for ALL TDs (including passing). We have the option of starting 2 QBs each week. Therefore, it is a very heavy QB and WR focused league. My roster is as follows:
My team (notables): QB: Romo, Thigpen, D. Anderson RB: Jacobs, Slaton, P. Thomas, Fargas WR: Marshall, Welker, Holmes, Mason, Branch TE: Cooley DEF: Giants
Trade on the table: Thigpen, Jacobs, Slaton FOR: Gore and Jennings
It is kind of a tough call. Should I wait and see if the Chiefs draft a QB? Jacobs is always injury prone. Slaton had a big first year, but could come back to earth. Will the 49ers use a RBBC next year?
My team after trade: Romo, Gore, P. Thomas, Marshall, Welker, Jennings, Holmes, Cooley (if anderson goes to TB or NYJ, he is thrown in the mix) My team without trade: Romo, Thigpen (if he wins starting job), Slaton, Jacobs, P. Thomas, Marshall, Welker, Holmes
Yes I am, but Thigpen carries a risk assuming he is 50/50 to start next year. If the Chiefs draft Sanchez and he wins the job, Thigpen is worthless. Obviously if he is a starter, this trade is TERRIBLE!!! And maybe it is terrible anyway. I am having doubts as well, just wanted to make sure. Marshall, Welker, and Jennings as a WR combo in a PPR league is just a little too tempting not to consider. Thanks for your post
One: either way Thigpen is a low end QB.....my guess is they add a veteran qb...through FA and not waste a draft pick on one of these guys.....Two: if Gonzo leaves any KC QB isn't worth having....
SO what you need to ask yourself is trading Jacobs and Slaton for Gore and Jennings a good trade........
My thoughts I would rather have Jacobs and Slaton.....but I could argue (Gore could be the best of the three Rb's) and Jennings is solid.....But I think I take my chances with what you have.....P Thomas wouldn't be a bad fill'in started......
Thighpen isn't going to start in KC. Cassel of Sanchez is. Pioli know Cassel, if he really is this good, KC will get him because Haley will love Cassel.
Jacobs is a great back but has to be used in combination with a Scat back. Think Thunder & Lightning.
Slaton is great, be he has only played one season and plays in Houston. I like, but do not love him.
Gore I love, he's on a team with QB trouble and Jimmy Raye (new OC) is leaning towards running, he's also a decent receiver. Jennings I also love. Rodgers is a great QB who finds jennings with ease. GB collapse was because of their defense, not because of Rodgers.
All I see is upside here. Draft Cassel or whoever will be starting for KC (Not Thighpen..).
