Want to keep 1 QB

Postby dcb991 » Thu Feb 26, 2009 3:30 pm

I'm in a 12 Team keeper league and we get 4 keepers each year. I kept Romo and Cutler last year and won the title. I don't think I can keep both again. Who should my four keepers be out of:

T.Romo
J.Cutler
M.Jones-Drew

A.Johnson
R.Wayne
R.White

Thanks. Leave a link.

For me, unless your league scoring is really QB-heavy, I would throw both Romo and Cutler back into the mix and keep MJD and the 3 WRs. This is, of course, assuming you can start 3 WR or 2 WR and a flex, otherwise I would say keep Cutler with MJD, AJ and Wayne.

Another option is that if you can do trades in the offseason, to try dealing one of those QBs with a WR for a second RB and keep him, MJD and the other 2 WRs. The possibilities are limitless in this scenario...

If you just want to keep it simple though, I REALLY think you need to cut both QBs barring a screwy scoring situation ;-D

I have 2 questions to start with:

What's the scoring system? i'm going to answer as if the scoring system is standard.
What do you mean by 'I don't THINK i can keep both again'? Right now this doesn't affect my answer but make sure you know the rules, knowing the rules is always a good thing.

Bill belichick knew the rules and let doug flutie drop kick, jeff fisher knew the rules and made the Music City Miracle happen (i'm sorry, that's the best I could do..does anybody know any other good examples of knowing the rules?)

As for you keepers:

If you can't keep both Qbs i'd go with Cutler (I hold new HC McDaniels in high regard, i'm positive that the broncos O will soar), A. Johnson (No. 1 or 2 WR overall) Reggie Wayne (He still plays with manning and is now the official No.1 receiver in Indy with harrison out) and MJD, since he is also the featured back and is a good receiver out of the backfield.

I think roddy white can be drafted again and I'm not sold on Romo, he always has a drop in production in december (or wich month is it again?) and I hate it when players slow down during the season (I traded portis away because of it).

If your league is PPR, it's absolutly golden.

I think you keep MJD and the three receivers.......

A little different thinking as to why......If you throw both QB's back your odds go up to reacquire one of them....I can argure for one over the other both ways, but in all honesty both have question marks around them.....so keep the 4 solid players you have andgo for back to back....

Good Luck!!

I agree with the others...unless you get 6 pts/TD and 1 pt/25 I could keep MJD and 3 WRs. If that is your scoring I think White would get chopped and you flip a coin on Romo/Cutler.

Help!

I think your first option would be to try and trade one of the two qb's. I like both, but think they both have some issues. Romo has fallen apart late in the year, TO is getting older and about to tear that team apart this year. Cutler I think would be in a great offense now, but after the trade / no trade issues it may take a little time to see if he is traded or patches things up in Denver and if Marshall is suspended.........again. Overall I like Cutler better than Romo and would keep him and try to trade Romo to another team in your league for draft picks. Good luck.

I think people are too down on Romo right now. T.O. is getting older, but he is still an elite WR. Romo still has a good o-line, Witten and Roy Williams. Not to mention a great running game. I think Romo will easily be a top 5 QB, because Dallas loves to throw the football.
