Agreed. Though there are many holes that KC needs to fill, I doubt they go 9-7 or better.
I was stunned when Schefter, who I respect, called Cassell one of the best young talents. This is still a guy who never started a game until last year. He had 3 years to learn the Pats system. He will have 6 months to learn the Chiefs even with Haley being there it will be a HUGE learning curve for him.
I think people in general are underestimating Cassel. Pioli has proven to be one of the best talent evaluators in the game. His interest alone, considering his intimate knowledge of the player, should make everyone reexamine what they thought they knew. It did for me anyway. Just my $.02.

Pioli is overrated. Without Moss falling into their laps and SpyGate, the Patriots would not be the franchise they are today.

Pioli has been the primary talent evaluator in NE for ~8 years. During that time they've been one the NFL's model franchises and have won 3 SB. Oh yeah, he's also the guy who found a little nugget you might know as Tom Brady.
Yeah, it's easy to be better than other teams when you know what plays they are running.
Oh come on... they have been an exceptional team for a decade with only Pittsburgh being in the same conversation over the last 10 years.
You are naive if you think New England is the only team to be taping. They all do it, New England just got caught. The difference is that they won.
It's a poor assumption to say that everyone does it just because one team did it. That's hardly an argument one way or another because it's a completely unfounded argument that has no basis in anything.
I agree that you probably can't attribute all of the success to the "spygate" ordeal but it's also impossible to argue that their success doesn't come with an asterisk now because they got caught cheating. It's not people trying to pick a fight...it's just a fact. When people think back on the Patriots in this era, they will always wonder how much they won because of the videotaping...thus the asterisk.
I think it's ridiculous to argue that Pioli doesn't have an excellent eye for talent...this is a team that builds its success on solid drafting and taking older veteran players and making them work together. They have generally done a good job drafting wise and with Pioli being a big part of that, one would have to come to the conclusion that he obviously knows what he's doing.

All division championship seasons. New England is THE team of the decade, sorry Steeler fans.
The Jets won the AFC East in 2002 & the Pats didn't make the playoffs. The Pats won the Super Bowl in the '01, '03, & '04 seasons. I always though it was funny that this "dynasty" didn't even make the playoffs the one year in between their 3 SB wins.
