The 49ers expect Josh Morgan to emerge as a "top-flight" receiver in his second season, according to the Santa Rosa Press Democrat.

Morgan might've started from Week 1 on had he not caught a staph infection in the '08 preseason. He's slated to start now with Brandon Jones at flanker and Isaac Bruce contemplating retirement. Morgan, who averaged 16.0 YPC as a rookie, will be a solid bet to pace the Niners in receiving yardage.

wow, i never really thought of Josh Morgan with that much potential but i am definatly going to take a flyer on him in are last round this year. Great article.

The 49ers plan to use first-round pick Michael Crabtree at split end, Josh Morgan's old position.

Brandon Jones and Isaac Bruce will vie at flanker. Crabtee saw action in the slot at Texas Tech and could move there in three-receiver sets, with Morgan coming in outside. But Morgan's fantasy stock has taken an obvious tumble.
