Heart and Soul of the Team leaves: Again

The last time the Eagles let the heart and soul of their team leave Philly it was Jeremiah Trotter. Before that it was Hugh Douglas.

Both times, the money saving moves cost the Eagles immensely in the locker room. After realizing their mistake, the Eagles brought them both back to the team. Too late, however to salvage the season.

Dawkins won't be back this year. And the Eagles don't have anyone else to fill in and be the emotional leader on this team. Given past history, it will be tough to imagine the possibility of an improvement on last year's regular season 9-7 record, much less making the Super Bowl.
