Roundup: Don’t expect WR Holt in Chicago
Posted: April 3rd, 2009 | NFL.com Staff

The Bears are living large, fresh off the trade for QB Jay Cutler and the signing of OT Orlando Pace.

How about adding a big-play wide receiver like Torry Holt? Not going to happen, according to his agent, Kennard McGuire, who told the Chicago Sun-Times that his client is focusing on two AFC South rivals. But the Florida Times-Union is reporting that Holt might be out of the Jaguars’ price range.

“We have several other teams that are interested,” McGuire said. “Torry has a process and he is going through that process. We will [have another visit] it is just a matter of time. He has to give his approval.”

On ESPN radio, John Clayton just said that Holt will be signing with Jacksonville within the next 24-48 hours.

And from their website:

The Jacksonville Jaguars are nearing a deal for free agent wide receiver Torry Holt, but it has not yet been finalized, sources tell ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

Holt was released by the St. Louis Rams on March 13 shortly before he was due a $1.25 million roster bonus on the 17th.

Don't have a link yet but on the radio it's being reported as done (~3 years @ $20M).

Yeah now if they could just get their hands on a time machine and take Holt back 5 years they would have something.
