Thinking about rolling a QB....

Postby maestro1313 » Thu Mar 05, 2009 4:56 pm

I am toying with rolling a QB to another team to get some value.

I have Palmer, Rodgers & T. Edwards...

Thinking about moving either Palmer or Rodgers and getting back Bulger (just for insurance) and X.

Not sure what X is, but that will be decided.

Whom would you rather move? Palmer or Rodgers?
Any thoughts are appreciated.
Thanks

You have a legit QB1 on Rodgers, a QB2 in Edwards, and a "wild card" in Palmer. This is exactly the kind of mix that I want at QB. A strong QB1, an average QB2, and a high upside guy (Palmer) that you could unload to a team that needs a QB if Palmer regains some of that 2005 form.

Palmer's trade value is extremely low right now.... and Edward's is marginal. So you have Rodgers.... but why would you want to trade your only (currently) legit QB1?

Unless someone makes you an offer that knocks your socks off, I would stay put. Don't trade just to trade. There's a reason you drafted or acquired each player, be patient with it unless someone makes you a great offer.

Yea, I just trust that Palmer will round back into form... but that's a good point.
Guess I'm thinking of running one of them out there to see if I can get my socks knocked off!
Point well taken.
Thanks.

This is great advice. I'd try and trade Palmer or Edwards but Palmer's value is low.

Well your only QB with any value right now is Rodgers. I like Palmer, but they have a poor o-line, who knows what they have a rb and wr, well depends on what Chad 8- 5 shows up. If Palmer is healthy, you have a happy 8 - 5, Coles plays well, Benson can rush for 1200 yards, Chris Henry resigns and they get some o-line help then Palmer could be back to a top qb. I have Palmer on my dynasty leauge and would love for that to happen, but don't think it will. Now Edwards, he showed some promise in his rookie year and then started to fall apart late in his rookie year and had a poor second year. Edwards needs help and Buffalo has well, uummm, not done a damn thing to help him out. Unless they make some major moves I don't see Trent having a good year either.

So in order to trade them and get anything of value back you are going to have to trade Rodgers, but why trade a qb who is young and has a great offense around him?? So next is Palmer he is a top qb, but you would be selling very, very low on him right now and wouldn't get much in return on him. I would rather hold on to him and hope he rebounds. So that leaves Edwards and I don't see a huge upside right now and he really has no value right now. That really leaves Rodgers for you, so if you trade him you need to get something decent in return for him and then you would need to get value and some added depth for him. I would stick with what you have and hope that Palmer rebounds to a top qb and then you can move one of them.

Best bet is packaging Edwards if your looking for an upgrade, or deal him straight up for a top 2 round rookie pick or prospect RB (think of maybe Mendy?) if that's what your looking for.

I wouldn't do anything, especially since TO has signed with Buffalo.....

In this case, just stay pat........
