Ridiculous. If it's high school I can see saying no swearing at the players, and maybe keeping it from being personal. However, nothing on that list is personal or even that derogatory. I remember hearing about some college basketball fans who had found out that the opposing teams point guard had cheated on him with one of his teammates, so every time he touched the ball they chanted her name. Hilarious, but probably not for a high school game.

Big Brother, apparently, has many forms.
Bush would have never allowed this to happen. But under the Obama administration...

Alright, this is a great article. It relates to me tremendously. Right now, I am a senior in High School and LOVE to go to my schools sporting events and showing my support. We are the Cowboys and for the Winter sports, there are a bunch of us called the 'Cowboy Crazies', we go to every basketball game, stand in the corner, chant and support are team.
A few weeks back, we had a game against are rival school (Sister school [same district]) and since our team is much better than the other teams in our area, the opposing fans (all students) lost all respect for us and the game. They started chants that were extremely Anti-Semitic towards Jews (our school has a huge Jewish population). They started throwing up the Nazi marching sign towards us and it was extremely disrespectful.
But on a different note, there should definitely be limits to what should be done, cheered or said. Obviously, doing a hate crime and bringing race into a 'cheer-off', if that's what you want to call it, is EXTREMELY overboard. But chanting air ball when an opposing player air balls should be allowed. The athletic director at our school is extremely up tight about sportsmanship and for the most part we do a pretty decent job of keeping it clean, but not being to chant air ball is pathetic in my opinion.
