Keeper & Salary League - Should I trade Cassel

Postby maveric5800 » Thu Mar 12, 2009 5:13 pm

I'm in a keeper/salary league. We have $ 260 each year, can keep $130 in salary for next season. I had Brady(40) and Cassel(2) last yr. Salary in ( ) I'm thinking now might be the best time, highest value, to trade Cassel. I know at least 1 owner is interested.

I was thinking of packaging Cassel and Westbrook for either M. Forte and R.Wayne or S.Jackson and D.Bowe

Any thoughts??? I know Cassel would still be nice to have if Brady doesn't perform, but i think i have more upside by moving him, and picking up another QB in the draft.?

Here's my keepers right now.... Brady (40)
Cassel (2)
M.Turner (26)
Westbrook (36)
Slaton (12)
E.Royal (9)

It's a good price for a starting Qb but I have Cassel as the #14 QB at this point in time. I don't buy the hype at all and believe he ahs a huge learning curve with a new team. If you can dump an older RB along with Cassel and get both a younger starting RB and young starting WR then I would do it. Westbrook is still very valuable so don't sell to low.

Thanks for the input ;-D I agree with you on Cassel. I'm only putting Westbrook in on the deal fro salary reasons. There are few playerrs who i could get at a low salary. Should i target S.Jackson and D.Bowe or M.Forte and R.Wayne? ?

I would rather have Forte and Wayne purely on talent but it would come down to their cap numbers and what you have to give up to get them.
